Little did we know that our four-day getaway to Lake Malawi would bear so much fruit. Let me state unequivocally that it was only because of God, since He had definitely prepared the path and clearly guided us. The area is heavily infested with witchcraft and demonic activity. The Bible verses we have been studying, the books we have been reading, and what we have been experiencing are giving us first-hand experience on how to deal with spiritual warfare. Most of the Echo team here in Africa has been dealing with this since they were teenagers. They talk of it as though it is a common daily experience. Which it is, however a great deal of the church’s in America are oblivious to such things. I include myself in this group for the majority of my adult life. What we are now facing on a worldwide scale demands that all Christians be prepared.
Hopefully the words that I have written will be taken to heart. Many things I have not written about would be perceived as hard to accept and understand by most. Please read your Bibles diligently and spend as much time in prayer as possible. The sons and daughters of the Most High need to take their authority over the devil seriously. Make sure that you are born again, totally surrendered to Jesus, completely obedient to the Holy Spirit, walking continually in the fruit of the spirit, and guarding yourself at all times from anything evil. God will extend His protection to you. Read Psalm 91 over and over again until it becomes a place of great strength and comfort for you. The day will come when you will be face-to-face with a demon or many demons. Most of us encounter this daily, but we are just not aware of it. If you are truly a born again believer you will prepare like a wise virgin in Matthew 25:1-13. If you do not, you will be devoured by the one that is prowling around seeking to destroy, like in 1 Peter 5:8.
Tony and Jeffrey took a journey back to the Salima area to evaluate another possible Echo location. They reported back the incredible need that exists in that area. Demons were manifesting and the spiritual battle was in full force. Continued prayer to bind the enemy in this area is imperative. Jesus segregated Himself many times to pray alone. He gave us a great example of what we need to do. If we are to have success in Salima and beyond, many hours of prayer are necessary first. When this becomes our initial step, the power from heaven is released and God’s manifest Will is demonstrated. The Holy Spirit had already gone forth to give Heidi and I a clear indication of the need. This was then verified by Tony and Jeffrey to give us the additional witness of the Holy Spirit for confirmation. We are very excited to report that we will be starting there very soon. In fact, we will be returning again next week for a few days.
Shortly after we returned, the Lord placed another opportunity before us with a sister from America that lives solo on the side of a mountain. She is in the area where witchcraft is most prevalent. She has found dead bodies on the edge of her property that have been mutilated by witch doctors. Many hours into the night, drums are being beaten as chants rise into the dark sky. Frequently when she wakes in the morning, she will find 30 or 40 children sleeping on the ground around her. Her living quarters consist of a tent with a metal roof over it for extra protection. She lives a very utilitarian lifestyle, and I must say, I am envious of many aspects of it. She walks with the Lord daily in her prayer and devotional time. The children know the presence of God is with her, and they can sense the peace.
She can see Mozambique from where she is. Her prayer time consists of a strategic area from one mountain to another. Her prayers are big as a warrior’s prayer should be. Her name is Wendy and she claims a vast area for the kingdom of God. She petitions the Father daily to bind the evil forces. During our conversation, she made some comments that demonstrated humility and great strength in the Lord. She even indicated that she really is not doing that much for God out on the side of the mountain, however, what she has already done is something most so-called Christians would never even attempt. In the spiritual realm, she is making a fierce stand against the powers of darkness.
Most Christians do not realize that their cowardly actions will cause them to go to hell. The very last scripture in the Bible describing who will not enter The Kingdom is quite eye-opening. Revelation 21;8 NIV, but the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars- they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. All of you that are afraid to witness about Jesus to others, beware. Those who turn and run when a situation gets uncomfortable for Christ, beware. All those that choose not to stand up against evil, beware. All of those that react upon emotion instead of the Word of God, beware.
Putting on the full armor of God as described in Ephesians 6 is imperative, and equally important is what we do when we have it on. Three times we are told to stand, not to run away. Not to reason in our minds why we should leave an uncomfortable situation. Not to ever turn our backs and walk away from our fellow believers. Wendy has chosen to stand in the midst of swarming demons and has been granted the protection of the Most High. Warriors such as her forces the rest of us to ask this question. How many times have we chosen to act cowardly because it was more convenient and conducive to the desires of the flesh?
Sadly I myself have chosen the cowardly path many times. I have witnessed many Christians choose the cowardly path. I have even been a part of a Bible study group that did not want to study Revelation because it was fearful for many in the group. My prayer is that everyone would consider the Scripture I mentioned above very seriously. The Lord has given us one more opportunity to choose. Do you choose the cowardly path, or the path of a warrior ? Forgive me Lord for the times I have chosen a cowardly path. Please grant me the strength, wisdom and revelation to walk as a mighty warrior against the powers of darkness. Thank You Jesus for Your word is true and everlasting.
